Meet The Therapist: A Behind The Screens Look
Hi, I’m Olivia! (They/Them)
Your friendly neighborhood non-binary, lesbian, “spoonie”, AuDHD (ADHDer and Autistic) therapist providing virtual therapy services to clients in New York State.
My approach centers clients as the experts of their own lives and lived experiences, uses humor as a tool, and welcomes integration of queer, nerd, and a range of neurodivergent culture/interests (yes, I would be honored to meet your pets and see the meme that made you giggle).
In this house we are TGNCNB-affirming (Transgender, Gender Non-conforming, and Non-binary), welcome all sexual identities and relationship types, inclusive of all bodies, chronic pain/illness and disability-alined, and sex/kink positive.
I am passionate about building a space where you feel able to show up as your whole, authentic self -even if you’re also meeting that version of yourself for the first time.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist (LMFT) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), my practice is deeply rooted in acknowledging the mutual impact of systems -such as peers, friends, family, and larger cultural and social structures- on us and vise versa. These factors are all vital in giving context to our experiences. As a result of this framework, I unwaveringly believe therapy IS political and deeply relational, which is why I choose to be transparent right off the bat with clients about my held identities as a queer, neurodivergent, chronic pain holding human. These parts of me/my experience deeply inform my practice and passion for this work, and I have found many clients work with me because I have lived experience that allows me to relate to or differently understand them!
I wholeheartedly believe in decolonizing therapy and behavioral healthcare and deconstructing the ways it has historically harmed marginalized people. I view learning as a life-long practice, and as a therapist I am dedicated to engaging in ongoing education/exploration that continues to enhance and expand my therapeutic knowledge.
Starting therapy can be an intimidating process which asks you to advocate for your needs and take a chance on being vulnerable with a stranger, you deserve a space that makes that leap of faith feel worth it. I am proud to potentially be a part of that process for you, and whenever you’re ready to take the next step in your journey, feel free to reach out!
